In late 2017 I heard about Bitcoin.

It was on its first breakout tear to $20k.

Bitcoin was getting a lot of attention.

I asked a guy at a coffee shop his thoughts on it.

He was artsy, cool and rich.

I knew he was into trading.

I figured he would have good advice.

I asked him about Bitcoin and he said,

"I wouldn’t waste my time".

So I didn't.

I took his word over my own gut telling me this was something.

Around the same time I first heard about email lists.

From a creator on twitter.

He ran an online business as a solopreneur.

He traveled the world with his free time and money.

(He had a lot of both).

He said his email list was his top asset.

I thought that was cool but I had no clue what he was talking about.

I didn’t dig deeper.

I let lack of clarity keep me from following my gut.

If I had followed my gut in 2017,

I would be,

-a bitcoin millionaire

-with a million dollar email list.

No more working.

No more worrying about bills.

Just living life and pursuing my interests and hobbies.

Freedom.

This year I heard about “the creator economy”.

Internet solopreneurs generating millions in revenue with 90-95% profit margins.

It reminded me of my brush with bitcoin and email lists circa 2017.

Roughly 6 years ago..

I ignored the first two.

I’m not ignoring this one.
